The Knife Break Up

Published on: Aug 27 2014 by Jennifer Patchett

The Swedish brother and sister duo The Knife have announced that they will no longer continue on after their current tour. Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer have been creating compelling music for over 15 years together, and are renowned for their avant-garde and controversial stage shows. Their most recent tour for the critically-acclaimed album Shaking the Habitual featured on-stage aerobics and the biggest steel drum band in Scandinavia, which polarized audiences.

In their last interview with Dazed and Confused, The Knife stated, “We will close down, it’s our last tour. We don’t have any obligations to continue.” Olof Dreijer mentioned that he will  be mixing and producing Houwaida Hedfi’s new album upon the finale of the tour, while Karin has not yet alluded to any future plans, or a return to her Fever Ray project.

Hey Ryan! Good to hear from you. Yes indeed, I have been writing for Big Sonic Heaven, although I haven’t in a while because I injured my spine. It has been a very long, hard recovery but I’m still fighting the good fight. Hope you and Jamie are doing well!

      Happy New Year!
