The Big Sonic Heaven 7 is 7 questions we ask our favorite bands.
This time we asked Starflyer 59…

1. Where are you from/based?
Huntington Beach, California

2. Give us a brief history of the band.
The band was formed shortly after I  graduated high school in 1991, and have been putting out records ever since.

3. What are your influences and/or describe your sound.
Depends on the year, but when we started we were influenced by bands like Ride, Boo Radleys, My Bloody Valentine…

4. What is your current release? Tell us about it.
Our current release is titled Vanity, it is our 16th LP, which is out on 10/15.

5. Tell us something funny or shocking about the band.
Well, I guess it’s pretty funny we are still putting out records almost 30 years after starting the band…Never would have thought that would be the case when we started.

6. What’s the best thing about being in a band?
6. I enjoy the process of making and releasing new music every couple of years.

7. What’s next? Are you touring?
I’m always working on new songs to some degree, no plans for touring.
