Massive Attack fans have plenty to rejoice about.
This past week, the trip-hop trio previewed three new songs on their mobile app Fantom. Two of those songs, “The Spoils” and “Come Near Me” have been officially released on various streaming platforms.
“The Spoils” features Mazzy Star vocalist Hope Sandoval. This is their second collaboration following 2010’s “Paradise Circus”. “Come Near Me” features British vocalist Ghostpoet. The group also shared a video for the song starring Kosovan actor Arta Dobroshi. With a neo-noir vibe, the simple scene of a couple drifiting apart becomes a rhythmic dance over six minutes.
Earlier this year, Massive Attack released the four-track Ritual Spirit EP. A full-length album is said to be coming in the near future.
You can watch the video for “Come Near Me” below. The new tracks may be heard on Spotify.
