Keep Shelly In Athens are wrapping up their co-heading North American Fall tour with Chad Valley. Courtney and I got the chance to catch them down in San Diego on October 27th at The Casbah. I was really excited when I heard these two bands were playing together. I’ve been listening to KSIA’s new album “At Home” for a few weeks now and it’s really been working it’s way into my blood! The tracks “Oostende”, “Recollection” and “Higher” were high points for me.
Chad Valley (a.k.a Hugo Manuel) I’ve been obsessed with for a few years now! When I first heard his music I thought of it as disco shoegaze (No surprise that he’s from Oxford, England!). His music is a lot more on the pop side now but don’t let that scare you off. It’s still some brilliant music. Some choice tracks to look up are, “Shell Suite”, “Up & Down” and “I Owe You This”. Chad Valley’s latest album “Young Hunger” was released in October of 2012 and is available online for download. Check it out!
